On the 121st episode of the GreatBase Tennis podcast, Steve Smith interviews Ty Tucker. Ty is the head men’s tennis coach at Ohio State and also oversees the women’s team as their director.
He was twice an All-American for his beloved Buckeyes and, while playing on the ATP tour, he had wins over Tim Henman and Jimmy Arias (two top ten players).
Ty returned to his alma mater as an assistant coach and in 1999 and was named head coach. His success at Ohio State may be best defined by having the new tennis complex on campus bear his name (Ty Tucker Tennis Center).
